The Lakeland Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) is a special taxing district whose mission is to improve and stimulate the environment for economic development in a people-oriented Downtown community.
We do not regulate, but exist to help Downtown business owners, residents and visitors have the best experience possible in the heart of Lakeland, Florida.
An exceptional Downtown that partners with others to promote a diverse safe and attractive business and residential environment, economic opportunity, quality public spaces, cultural and educational enrichment, and visual beauty.
BOARD PRIORITY GOALS 2011
The 2011 Goals that came out of the LDDA retreat include leadership, advocacy and planning (short and long term). The Board’s tactical goals in no specific order include to advocate for/assist/recommend the establishment of minimum standards of environmental attractiveness, maintain a sense of place, stimulate CRA and City Planning, achieve financial sustainability and regulatory review outside of the Historic Munn Park District.
