Barefoot Gardeners (organic): Barefood Gardener is an organic gardening club in Polk County for those who want to learn to grow their own fresh seasonal veggies, fruits, nuts and herbs or to findout where it can be obtained. We meet monthly at 1 p.m., the first Sunday of each month at various host locations. Local organic farmers and ranchers are joining our ranks. The Amish Pantry - The Amish Pantry was started about 5 years ago with just a very few jars of Amish jams and jelly. There was such a positive response to being able to buy Amish food products here in Florida that we have been expanding our inventory ever since. In addition to the jams, our list of available products now includes Amish butter, cheese, ring bologna, relishes, chowchow, pickles, canned peaches and pears, Kentucky sorghum honey (when available), and a line of no sugar added jams/preserves that are sweetened with natural fruit juice.
We actually travel to Kentucky to pick up a large majority of our products directly from the farmers who are making them. At Anna's
kitchen, we have been there when they have been making their jams/preserves, watched Anna's 7 daughters at work, and loaded jam into our vehicle while it was still warm.
You can't get much fresher than that. We have about a half dozen Amish farms
that we deal with. They are all very friendly and produce a quality product. The balance of our inventory is shipped to us from northeastern Ohio.
We feel we have built a very loyal customer base. In this age where people are more concerned about what is in our food, our customers tell us they appreciate that these products do not have all the chemicals and
pesticides that are found in a lot of commercially made products.
We currently set up at 4 farmers markets here in Florida and also a few festivals and events.

Jonathan Kioko's Gallery - 863-682-4402 (h); 407-655-8802 (c). I started the ART of carving at the age of 14. I learned it from my cousin. I taught high school for one year. Later, I joined one of t he handicraft cooperatives and worked there for four years. I was given a scholarship to Southern University of Louisiana, Baton-Rouge by the United Nations. I returned to Kenya to teach young sculptors for two years. I was invited to show my work and African culture in Germany and have travelled all over Europe to show my exhibition. In 1985, I was invited to be part of the Busch Gardens team, and stayed with them until 1994. Now I am working for myself. Some items are carved from Kissii-stone, mined in only one part of Kenya known as Kisii District. Other items are carved from Ebony and others from Muhugu. All these materials are from Kenya.
